Mini-ROV Underwater Inspections | Vessel, Dam, Intake & Industrial Assets | Inhaca Sub
Mini-ROV Services

Fast, Safe and Efficient Underwater Inspections

Professional Mini-ROV inspections for vessel hulls, propellers, sea chests, dam intakes, trash racks, water tanks and industrial underwater assets.

Quicker, simpler and more efficient inspections underwater. Using compact Remote Operated Vehicle systems, Inhaca Sub provides visual underwater inspection services for vessels, port structures, dam intakes, trash racks, water tanks and selected industrial water assets.

For vessel work, a Mini-ROV inspection can support hull condition checks, propeller and rudder assessment, sea chest visuals, pre-cleaning evaluation, post-cleaning verification, incident review and dry-dock planning.

For hydro and industrial assets, Mini-ROV inspection can support visual review of dam intakes, trash racks, reservoir walls, pump stations, water tanks and submerged structures where access, visibility, depth or operational restrictions make conventional inspection difficult.

Each inspection can produce time-stamped video, still images, extracted frames, annotated observations and concise technical notes, giving owners, operators, ports, EPC contractors, insurers and engineering teams a neutral underwater condition record.

Why Choose Mini-ROV Inspections?

Typical Applications

Vessels

Hull plating, propellers, rudders, sea chests, anodes, coating condition, fouling checks and incident assessment.

Dams & Intakes

Dam intakes, trash racks, reservoir walls, bottom areas, debris zones, visible obstruction checks and intake structure documentation.

Industrial Water Assets

Water tanks, pump stations, intake screens, cooling-water structures and other submerged industrial infrastructure.

Inspection Deliverables

Note: Mini-ROV inspection is a visual evidence service. It does not replace class approval, engineering certification, NDT, thickness measurement, bolt torque verification or structural acceptance unless separately agreed in writing.

Mini-ROV Underwater Inspection

Inhaca Sub provides Mini-ROV-based underwater inspections for vessels, ports, dam intakes, trash racks, water tanks and selected industrial water assets in Mozambique. Our compact ROV systems allow controlled visual inspection where access, depth, visibility, safety or operational restrictions make conventional inspection difficult or inefficient.

High-Intensity Underwater Lighting

Our Mini-ROV systems can be supported by strong underwater lighting to improve visibility around hulls, propellers, sea chests, intakes, trash racks and submerged structures. Lighting is selected and positioned according to water clarity, backscatter, inspection distance and the type of asset being inspected.

Video Stabilization, Image Review & Evidence Enhancement

Underwater visibility is often limited by turbidity, lighting, ROV movement and suspended particles. Where useful, inspection footage and still images can be reviewed using practical enhancement workflows to support clearer reporting and evidence selection.

  • Selected frame extraction from inspection video
  • Image sharpening and visibility improvement where appropriate
  • Annotated still images for findings and client review
  • Timecode-based evidence indexing
  • Structured observation and defect notes

What We Inspect

  • Ship hulls and plating
  • Propellers, rudders and nozzles
  • Sea chests and vessel intakes
  • Jetty piles and quay walls
  • Underwater mooring systems
  • Grounding or impact damage
  • Lost objects, ropes, nets or entanglement

Hydro & Industrial Assets

  • Dam intakes
  • Trash racks and intake screens
  • Reservoir walls and submerged concrete faces
  • Water tanks and confined water structures
  • Pump stations and intake channels
  • Cooling-water and industrial water assets
  • Debris, obstruction and visibility-limitation checks

Structured Inspection Reports

Our inspection deliverables are based on visual evidence captured during the underwater operation. Depending on the scope, reports may include:

  • Time-stamped video evidence
  • Still images and extracted frames
  • Annotated findings and observation notes
  • Hull, intake, rack, panel, zone or asset-based reporting
  • Coverage summaries and limitation notes
  • PDF report, video files and selected snapshots

This provides owners, operators, ports, EPC contractors, insurers and engineering teams with a neutral underwater condition record for review and decision-making.

Operational Coverage & Response

Inhaca Sub is based in Pemba, Mozambique. We support selected vessel, port, hydro and industrial underwater inspection scopes subject to access, permits, mobilisation, HSE requirements and operational feasibility.

  • Pemba and nearby marine operations
  • Selected anchorage and port-side vessel inspections
  • Mini-ROV inspection support for inland water assets where feasible
  • Urgent underwater visual checks subject to availability and safety review

Nighttime or urgent deployments may be considered where safe, permitted and operationally feasible.

Important Scope Note

Mini-ROV inspection is a visual evidence service. It does not replace class approval, engineering certification, NDT, thickness measurement, bolt torque verification or structural acceptance unless separately agreed in writing with the appropriate specialist scope.
